Job Title: Senior Manager – Bid Management

Job Summary:
As a Senior Manager – Bid Management, you will be responsible for leading and managing the entire bid process, from identifying opportunities to submitting winning proposals. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, pre-sales, technical experts, and legal, to create compelling and compliant proposals. This role requires a strategic mind set, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple complex bids simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bid Strategy and Planning:
Lead the development of bid strategies that align with the company’s goals, including win themes, value propositions, and competitive differentiation. - End-to-End Bid Management:
Manage the bid process from opportunity identification, RFP review, and stakeholder coordination, to final submission. Ensure compliance with customer requirements and internal quality standards. - Collaboration:
Work closely with sales, pre-sales, technical, finance, legal, and project teams to gather the required inputs and ensure all aspects of the bid are covered effectively. - Bid Writing and Content Management:
Oversee the preparation of high-quality proposals, including executive summaries, pricing models, technical solutions, and risk assessments. Ensure clarity, consistency, and accuracy in all bid documentation. - Risk Management:
Identify and assess risks associated with each bid, ensuring appropriate mitigation strategies are in place. Ensure commercial and legal risks are reviewed and approved internally. - Negotiations and Presentations:
Lead or support negotiations with clients during the bid process. Present bids and solutions to senior stakeholders, both internally and externally. - Post-Bid Review and Continuous Improvement:
Conduct post-bid reviews to assess performance and identify areas for improvement in future bids. Develop bid management processes and best practices for continuous improvement. - Team Leadership:
Mentor and manage a team of bid managers and coordinators. Provide guidance and support to ensure the successful delivery of all bids within deadlines.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree or MBA is preferred. - Experience:
Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in bid management, proposal writing, or a similar role, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership position. - Industry Knowledge:
Strong understanding of the industry (IT, telecom, defence, etc.), with experience managing large-scale bids for public and private sector clients. - Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously.
- Commercial acumen, with a good understanding of pricing models and financial evaluations.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in bid management tools and software (e.g., MS Office, CRM systems).
