ScanPlus - Mobile device management (MDM), is a security solution that enables enterprise administrators to discover, monitor, control, secure, and implement policies on Smartphones and Tablets. MDM intends to optimize the functionality and increase the efficiency and security of such mobile devices within the enterprise while simultaneously safeguarding the corporate network. With the increased rate of technological developments, more organizations resort to MDM, to secure these devices across networks, and increase productivity.

Mobile device management relies on endpoint software called an MDM agent and an MDM server that lives in a data centre, either on-premises or in the cloud. IT administrators configure policies through the MDM server's management console. The server pushes those policies over the internet to the MDM agent on the device. The agent applies the policies to the device by communicating with application programming interfaces (APIs) built directly into the device operating system. Similarly, IT administrators can deploy applications to manage devices through the MDM servers.
